Eskom Enterprises group business interests earmarked for sale    
   
 

The business of Transvaal Automotive Services (TAS), a division of Roshcon, was transferred to Imperial on 1 April 2008, from which date Imperial has taken responsibility for the business, including all employee issues. A profit of R4 000 000 was realised on the sale.

The sale of Roshcon*s shareholding of 25% in Ash Resources (Proprietary) Limited to Lafarge South Africa Holdings (Proprietary) Limited is expected to be completed by 30 September 2008. No loss is
expected on the sale.

The sale of Roshcon*s shareholding of 50% in Clinker Supplies (Proprietary) Limited to SA Block (Proprietary) Limited was concluded on 15 April 2008. No loss was realised on the sale.

Eskom Enterprises is negotiating with the minority shareholder of Lunsemfwa to dispose of its shareholding of 51%. The sale is expected to be completed by 30 September 2008. No loss is expected on the sale.

The management of Enerweb, a division of Eskom Enterprises, has made an offer for the business of Enerweb. The sale is expected to be completed by 30 September 2008. No loss is expected on the sale.

The assets of Airborne Laser Solutions (Proprietary) Limited are to be sold to AOC Holdings (Proprietary) Limited, after which the debts due to the company will be collected and the liabilities settled. The sale of assets is expected to be completed by 30 June 2008. The assets have been impaired to the realisable value, therefore no loss is expected on the sale.

All of the above investments, businesses or assets are treated as non-current assets held for sale in the attached financial statements (refer note 18).
